Driver Overrun Stack Buffer Blue Screen
By raising Stop 0x000000f7 Windows 7 kind of yells out for help in order to avert successive impairment of Windows. That is the reason why users shouldn t retard.
For the past few weeks or so I have been receiving a blue screen at random. Although it seems to happen when more than one tab is open. So far it has happened 3 times and all of the mini dumps list AE2500w764.sys as the probable cause. The drivers for my AE2500 network adapter are up to date and I did re-install it.
A little back ground information:
None of this was happening until we bought a new router and a new network adapter for my computer.

I attempted to add the mini dumps but I received an error stating the extensions were not allowed.
Okay, try this. Go to C: windows minidump. Minidump files have a. dmp extension. Select all the. dmp files. Right-click and send them to a compressed zipped folder. Upload this folder as a file here

Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter wireless driver This driver is definitely causing the problem. Get into the device manager and uninstall it. Restart and let Windows re-install it. Have you installed all the Windows Updates. Run it manually from the all programs menu until no more updates, including all optional updates are found. Then run it once more
Windows updates are up to date as of 9/26 There are 4 updates that I am running now. I just uninstalled the driver for the AE2500. The last time I uninstalled it I had to re-install it using the disc it came with. Although I don t believe it did anything.

Out of curiosity, would you have any guess to as why the computer would refuse to start. 2 times in the course of the last few weeks my computer refused to start. It would be shut down in the correct way and then refuse to start. I would have to un-plug it. Turn on and turn off this switch in the back Guessing it s the power supply switch.. Then wait a for a few minutes and then it would finally come on. I don t know if its an issue with it over-heating or a bad Power supply. I did feel the side once Cpu side and it felt slightly warm. When I did attempt to turn it on with the power button the fan would give a slight twirl and that was it, no lights or anything else.

Ok, If it happens again I ll look into getting another power supply As to the Network adapter issue I plugged in my old Router and old Network adapter and everything is working as happy as can be. I guess it doesn t always pay off to upgrade. I would have kept using my old network adapter with the newer router but it didn t seem to get along with it very well. I ll let you know if I get another BSOD, but if that driver was the only problem I shouldn t.

Description
The stack memory was corrupted by a device driver, likely due to attempt by malicious software to gain control of the system.
Some older versions of Windows may show the description as DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER.
This is a fatal Windows error, typically called a Stop message, Bug Check, or more commonly the Blue Screen of Death BSoD. The system is in a forced reboot state. Any unsaved work is likely lost.

If this is the first time you ve seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Uninstall the Last Install
If you can get the system up for more than a few minutes or can use safe mode, try removing the last installed software application or driver.
For removal of an application Windows 8
Press the Windows Key and X together, then Control Panel, then Programs and Features.
Select the software to uninstall and select Uninstall.
For removal of an application Windows 7 Vista :
Click on Start, Control Panel, then Programs and Features.
For removal of an application Windows XP :
Click on Start, Control Panel, then Add or Remove Programs.
Select the software to uninstall and select Remove.
To disable a driver:
Bring up the system information dialog:
On the keyboard, press the Windows key Pause/Break.
or
Select Start, right click Computer and on the drop-down, select Properties.
Click on the left side option Advanced system settings 7/Vista only.
In System Properties, select the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager button.
Find the hardware/driver of interest you may need to expand a choice at the plus graphic and double click the choice.
Select the Driver tab. Here you can perform a number of actions such as update the driver, roll Back the driver to an older version, disable or uninstall the driver.
Click OK to exit, then close the Device Manager and other previously opened dialogs.

After the Stop code will be 4 hex values: Parameter 1, Parameter 2, Parameter 3, Parameter 4.
Parameter 1 specifies the actual security check cookie from the stack.
Parameter 2 specifies the expected security check cookie.
Parameter 3 specifies the bit-complement of the expected security check cookie.
Parameter 4 is set to 0.
