There are few videocards with a similar name, you need to be more specific on what exact one is it that you got:

Nvidia 7600 series from a few years ago

AMD 7600 series that can include anything mobile.

Oh, I forgot to add. It s AMD 7600G.

Then it is a rebadged 6670 for the mobile world, unless it is integrated on the CPU like in Trinity.

Check if it has discrete RAM, if it does, and it is GDDR5, then it is faster than the DDR3 version, which are all faster than the APU integrated on CPU version.

I d Check again I think that it might be a 76xxG the G indicates that that is integrated into and APU and is a mobile version. Amd s APUs are good processor and video card combinations for people who are on a budget. the easiest way to tell exactly what video card your looking at is to look up the CPU. For example the Amd A10-4600 has a 7660G while the A8-4500 has a 7640G which is much less powerful than the 7660G. All of the 76xxG cards will share system ram, and dont have any video ram which means they are not discrete cards, but they do perform comparably and a much lower price point. There is also the option to Corssfire the 76xxG with another AMD discrete video card, for example the 7670M I added to my laptop should increase it s performance drastically and only cost me 50.

The other big advantage of the CPU/GPU combo is battery life, these guys really dont use much power.

In dual-graphics with a HD7670M, either the 7660G or 7640G will max the video something like an HD7775G2 designation in dual-graphics.

The APU graphics engine on the Trinity chip is a cut-down Turks 40nm gpu.

I don t understand, I have a A8-4555m and the graphic card is the 7600G and it says it has 512 MB DDR3 dedicated. The catalyst software says so, Windows says so also. But everywhere on the web it says it s a sharded memory gpu. It s weird

It s the 7600G APU graphics. And, you could likely raise this to 1GB or, more from within your BIOS, or with an AMD utility. If you look around, you might also find some over-clocking tools, though, with mobile you must be careful.

If your graphics were designated Radeon 7600m Mobility that would be discreet.

THOUGH to further confuse you AMD also offers a Radeon 7600G2 which is the dual-graphics combination of the G plus the m.

You will be tested later

The integrated Radeon HD 7600G is a relatively weak graphics core. Based on the benchmarks in the following link, the HD 7600G is slower than the Intel HD 3000 which is found in the 2nd generation Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs known as Sandy Bridge. Intel s 3rd generation Ivy Bridge CPUs have the Intel HD 4000 graphics core which is about 35 on average more powerful than the Intel HD 4000. The Intel HD 3000 does not beat the Radeon HD 7600G in every single game, but in most games. But the current Intel HD 4000 seems to beat the Radeon HD 7600G in every single game. The only benchmark where it performs worse than the HD 7600G is the last one; World In Conflict Benchmark.

Overall, the Radeon HD 7600G is a pretty weak graphics core.

Introduction Design

Middle America, your laptop is ready.

Specifically, the laptop that should have been in the stores last Christmas is ready. All of the market watchers and pundits articles about the slow uptake of Windows 8 point to the delay in hardware vendors developing affordable touch-screen PCs for Microsoft s new operating system: While Windows 8 cries out for a touch screen, mass-market retail laptops have made do without, leaving touch technology to relatively high-priced notebooks and hybrids and leaving the average consumer frustrated by Win 8 s klutzy controls without it. Have you tried closing an application by grabbing and dragging it to the bottom of the display. Easy as pie with a touch screen, doable with a mouse, and nearly impossible with a typical touch pad.

A few manufacturers, notably Acer and Asus, have tackled the problem with touch-screen bargains such as the latter s 11.6-inch, 500-street-price VivoBook X202E. But now comes an entry from that most massive of mass marketers, that bastion of Best Buy and stalwart of Walmart, HP. The retail juggernaut has combined three of its brands Pavilion consumer, TouchSmart touch, and Sleekbook cheaper than ultrabook to launch a 15.6-inch Windows 8 laptop with 10-point touch screen, priced at 649.

Like the non-touch Pavilion Sleekbook that we reviewed last month and that bears the same build-to-order model number, 15z-b000, at HP.com, the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook relies on an AMD accelerated processing unit APU rather than an Intel CPU, along with an ample 6GB of memory and 750GB hard drive.

The AMD chip means its computing performance, though adequate, is slower than a comparable Intel system s, though its integrated Radeon HD 7600G graphics are a tick faster. Battery life is lackluster, and the HP is a trifle heavy for a laptop without an optical drive 5.5 pounds.

But the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook is slim and handsome well, handsome in a plastic instead of aluminum way, with a better-than-average keyboard and plenty of ports. Most of all, its touch screen makes a world of difference in navigating Windows 8, turning a chore into a pleasure. For 649, you could do worse.Design

While its touchless cousin is available in blue and red as well as black, the TouchSmart Sleekbook comes solely in sparkling black, a faintly speckled glossy finish that highlights the beveled edges of its lid, though we would have liked some soft-touch paint or other coating on the plain plastic bottom to make the unit more grippable. The keyboard deck is glossy too, making the matte black keys a welcome contrast.

The shiny finish and black-mirror display are fingerprint and smudge magnets; we began each day by buffing the Sleekbook with a tissue. Though, as mentioned, a bit hefty, the HP is relatively trim at 15.2x10.2x0.9 inches. It slipped readily into our briefcase, which isn t true of every 15.6-inch laptop.

Features

On the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook s left side, you ll find a USB 2.0 port and headphone jack. Two USB 3.0 ports are on the right side, along with HDMI and Ethernet ports and an SD card slot. While 802.11n wireless is standard, Bluetooth is a 15 option.

Except for HP s quirky trademark half-sized up and down arrow keys sandwiched between full-sized left and right arrows we can t muster a complaint about the Sleekbook s keyboard. Though it s not backlit no surprise at this price its spacious chiclet-style layout includes a numeric keypad and dedicated Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn keys and offers a flex-free typing feel with sufficient key travel, unlike the flat feel of some ultra-thin laptops. The keys have a slightly rough, non-skid texture against your fingertips, which seems odd at first but helps contribute to a feeling of precise control.

The keyboard s function keys default to their system and multimedia control purposes, with no need to press the Fn key.

Also textured is the TouchSmart s good-sized touch pad, which works smoothly for both routine navigation and Windows 8 swipes from the left or right to switch apps or summon the Charms bar respectively. We hit a few snags with two-finger scrolling and three-finger flicks, which were sometimes mistaken for pinch-to-zoom commands, but liked the dual discrete mouse buttons at the bottom of the pad. If you use an external mouse, double-tapping a dimple at top left of the touch pad turns the pad off.

No snags were found with the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook s 15.6-inch multi-touch screen, which handled Microsoft s operating system s taps and swipes as deftly as we could desire, with virtually no flex or wobble. The big display and relatively low resolution 1,366x768 pixels, standard fare for economy laptops but at least capable of showing 720p HD content from streaming services make hitting targets easy. Viewing angles to the side are pretty good but obscured by reflections on the glossy panel. Colors are rich, though brightness is only average items don t pop against whiter-than-white backgrounds.

Altec Lansing speakers above the keyboard pump out somewhat flat but powerfully loud sound, while a Webcam above the screen captures bright but grainy images. In addition to supplying a one-year warranty, HP preloads the Pavilion with a slew of software ranging from Norton Internet Security and Skype to HP WildTangent Games and links to Netflix and eBay, as well as HP Connected Remote, which lets you control the laptop s Windows Media Player or iTunes playback with your tablet or smartphone. Since we often use a PC s system recovery utility to restore it to factory condition after installing and running all our benchmarks, we were dismayed when HP s Recovery Manager wiped out all the HP apps, leaving only Windows 8 s bare-bones set. In the good old Windows 7 days, PCs with recovery partitions restored a full factory image.

Performance Conclusion

Despite being a quad- rather than dual-core processor, the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook s 1.6GHz AMD A8-4555M trails midrange Intel chips performance, but its Radeon HD 7600G integrated graphics edge Intel s current HD Graphics 4000. HP bolsters the AMD APU with a more than adequate 6GB of RAM and 750GB hard drive; upgrading at ordering time to 8GB of memory costs 50, as does a 1TB drive.

For our benchmark charts, we compared the TouchSmart Sleekbook to the AMD-powered non-touch Pavilion Sleekbook; Toshiba s affordable 14-inch touch-screen Satellite P845T-S4310; and two 15-inch touch laptops coming soon to Computer Shopper s review pages, the Sony VAIO T15 Touch and Asus VivoBook S500CA. In PCMark 7, a synthetic test suite that estimates a system s overall performance, the TouchSmart squeaked past its cousin but placed well behind the Core i5-based Toshiba and Sony, the latter given an extra boost by the SSD cache that supplements its hard drive.

The AMD A8-powered HP laptops predictably trailed the Core i5 models in Cinebench, a CPU-crunching test that stresses all processor cores while rendering a complex image:

In our Adobe Photoshop CS6 test, which applies a series of filters and effects to a large JPEG image, the TouchSmart outran the other Sleekbook, but was again significantly slower than the Intel systems. That s not to say you can t tackle jobs such as image editing on the HP, only that you ll need a bit of patience:

   Graphics Gaming Tests

The Pavilion turned the tables, though not by much, in 3DMark 11, an overall estimate of a PC s gaming prowess. In the battle of integrated graphics, AMD came out on top:

Ditto for our DirectX 11 gaming simulation Aliens vs. Predator. The Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook fell well short of the 30 frames per second threshold for smooth gameplay, but its noticeably quicker performance than the Intel notebooks indicates its merits as a casual gaming platform:

   Battery Life Conclusion

Possibly our biggest disappointment with the TouchSmart Sleekbook is its battery life perhaps less of an issue for 15.6-inch desktop replacements than for smaller ultraportables, but nice to rely on nonetheless. The HP touch-screen system surpassed the non-touch model, but otherwise lagged the field, lasting barely three and a half hours in our admittedly tough video rundown test:

But we said you could do worse, and we meant it: Not the fastest, lightest, or longest-lived, the Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook is still a well-equipped, stylish, and attractive laptop with a responsive touch screen that makes a big difference in dealing with Windows 8. Our only hesitation in recommending it is our suspicion that the under- 750 touch laptop market is about to explode, and you ll want to keep your eyes open for possible alternatives. HP s not the only vendor eager to make up for last Christmas.
